You’re not too much. You’re not flawed. You’re wired for something different.
Living in a world built for neurotypical brains can be exhausting, and it can feel like fighting invisible battles every day. If you’ve ever felt like you had to mask, perform, or constantly explain yourself, you’re not alone. Therapy offers a chance to unmask, exhale, and just be.
In my Austin-based therapy practice, I work with neurodivergent adults and teens, including folks with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, and learning disabilities, who are looking for support without judgment. You don’t have to justify your needs or fit someone else’s mold. We’ll start with who you are and build from there, because your superpowers deserve support, not suppression.
Note: I don’t conduct neuropsychological evaluations or offer formal diagnoses for autism, ADHD, or other neurodevelopmental conditions. If you’re looking for diagnostic testing, I’m happy to refer you to providers who specialize in that.
Therapy that meets you where you are
I don’t believe in fixing or normalizing. I believe in honoring your brain, your body, and your experience. Neurodivergence isn’t a deficit. It’s a different way of processing the world, and it comes with both challenges and strengths. Some of my clients have formal diagnoses. Others are self-identified or just starting to wonder if the term fits. There’s no right way to be neurodivergent and no pressure to label yourself. We’ll figure it out together, at your pace.
Sessions might include:
- Working through sensory overload or shutdowns
- Building self-trust after years of feeling “too much”
- Unpacking the impact of late diagnosis or chronic masking
- Exploring relationships, boundaries, and communication
- Processing social challenges, including rejection sensitivity and feeling misunderstood
- Navigating executive functioning struggles without shame
- Reframing internalized ableism and perfectionism
Whether you’re looking to recover from burnout, explore identity, or feel more supported in daily life, therapy can offer tools, insight, and a greater sense of calm.
Common signs therapy might be helpful
You don’t need a diagnosis to seek support. These are just some of the signs that therapy with a neurodivergent-affirming lens could help, including for those who identify as gifted or twice-exceptional (2e), where strengths and struggles can feel deeply intertwined.
- You constantly mask to get through work, school, or social situations
- You struggle with emotional regulation, sensory overwhelm, or time blindness
- You often feel out of sync in social settings or unsure of unspoken rules
- You’ve been called sensitive, intense, or “too much” for most of your life
- You worry about misreading social cues or saying the wrong thing
- You’ve experienced rejection sensitivity or relationship challenges
- You want support in communicating your needs but feel misunderstood
Therapy can give you a place to feel seen, heard, and supported on your terms.
What does neurodivergent-affirming therapy mean?
It means I respect your brain’s wiring. I don’t assume that change means becoming more “normal” or that your struggles are personal failures. We’ll focus on building systems that work for you, not against you.
Some clients prefer structured tools. Others thrive in open-ended exploration. We’ll co-create a rhythm that fits how you process, communicate, and make meaning. If we need to pause, redirect, stim, script, or slow things down, we will.
This work is deeply individual, and your experience deserves care, curiosity, and collaboration.
Neurodivergent-affirming therapy helps you reconnect with your rhythms, trust your instincts, and create a life that fits, not fights, who you are.
